Consistency is the key

This is not the first time Tribu Banwar dominated a national competition on combative sports as they were also declared the champion of the Wushu Championship held in Baguio City last September 23-25 after getting a total of 9 gold and 2 bronze medals.

When asked about their secret to success in combative sports, Coach Tagure answered consistency and regular training. He also said that he incorporates sports science into the training of his athletes, stressing that body conditioning is a fundamental factor in any sport.

Tagure also relayed that the young athletes at Tribu Banwar who are 9-18 years old practice various disciplines such as wushu, kickboxing, Muay Thai and mixed martial arts.

After their victory during the Philippine Muay Thai Youth Games 2022, Tribu Banwar is set to head to La Trinidad, Benguet this coming December 10 for the mixed martial arts competition.
