Tinglayan, Kalinga - The outstanding financial management performance of the local government unit of Tinglayan has recently been recognized as it secured a spot on the 2023 Official List of Passers for Good Financial Housekeeping (GFH).

The municipality joins six other municipalities and Tabuk City in Kalinga on the list provided by the Department of the Interior and Local Government.

According to Larae Lactao of the Municipal Information Office of Tinglayan, the recognition was earned as the local government unit achieved not only unqualified or qualified status in the most recent Commission on Audit (COA) Audit Opinions for 2021 and 2022, but also full compliance with the full disclosure policy.

Under the leadership of Mayor Sacrament Gumilab, the LGU ensured timely reporting and complete posting of required financial documents.

Validated data include inputs from the second to the fourth quarter of 2022, as well as records from the first quarter of 2023.

Gumilab regards the accomplishment as a testament to their commitment to financial transparency and accountability.

He then expressed gratitude to the employees of LGU Tinglayan for their collaborative efforts in ensuring good financial housekeeping, leading to the recognition.

“The accomplishment reflects Tinglayan's dedication to sound fiscal management, providing a foundation for sustainable development and improved public services,” he said.
