Tinglayan, Kalinga – The local government of Tinglayan only needs to conduct a Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (BDRRM) planning and budgeting workshop in Basao to finally conclude said initiative in all barangays of Tinglayan.
The conduct of BDRRM planning and workshops started on March this year.
Spearheaded by the LGU’s Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), the workshop-training is aimed at fostering a resilient community.
The LGU itself is also focused on enhancing the disaster preparedness of the locality to ensure the safety of constituents in all seasons thus bringing said initiative to all the locality’s 20 barangays.
In the conduct of said training-workshops, barangay officials are expected to have their disaster plans finished on time as an offshoot.
As mentioned by the MDRRM office, one of the ultimate goals of said trainings is for barangays in the Municipality of Tinglayan to develop their Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (BDRRMC) Comprehensive Plan.
Apart from said activities, MDRRMO Tinglayan headed by Clemente Basing-at also attended barangay assemblies, giving brief lectures on disaster risk reduction and management matters.
