TUPAD workers in Tinglayan get P1.5M wage from DOLE, Sen. Dela Rosa

Tinglayan, Kalinga – After the completion of their 10-day community work, 332 residents of Tinglayan received their payout on Wednesday, January 3, through the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program.

To recall, the displaced and disadvantaged workers were assigned in November of last year to complete tasks related to social, agro-forestry, and economic community projects.

The payout not only provides financial relief to the people of Tinglayan but also stands as a testament to the community’s resilience and commitment to supporting its members, particularly those who are displaced, underemployed, and seasonal workers during challenging times.

The total fund allocated for this program amounts to P1,500,000.

Of the said fund, P1 million was provided by the Department of Labor and Employment—Cordillera, while the remaining P500,000 came from the office of Senator Ronald Marapon Dela Rosa to support workers' wages.

The budget from DOLE-Cordillera benefited 212 individuals, while the funds allocated by Senator Dela Rosa's office were awarded to 120 recipients.

According to Larae Lactao of the Municipal Information Office, each worker received P4,000.
