TABUK CITY, Kalinga — Aspiring public safety officers in Kalinga can pursue a four-year scholarship and a career in law enforcement as the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) opens its Cadet Admission Test (CAT) at Kalinga State University (KSU) in Bulanao, Tabuk City, on October 25, 2026.

The Kalinga Police Provincial Office (KPPO) announced that walk-in application processing will be held at the same venue on October 24, a day before the examination.

Walk-in applicants must prepare a photocopy of their Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) birth certificate, a photocopy of Form 137 or Form 138 showing a general weighted average of at least 85 percent, and a 2x2 identification picture with a white background and name tag.

Examinees must bring one original valid identification card, two passport-size or 2x2 identification pictures with name tags, black ballpens and a No. 2 pencil. Applicants are also advised to wear proper attire, preferably a plain white shirt or top.

The KPPO reminded walk-in applicants to report to the testing center on October 24 and submit their requirements to the chief examiner.

However, walk-in slots are limited and will depend on the availability of additional examination booklets and answer sheets. Qualified examinees will be prioritized, followed by cross examinees and walk-in applicants.

The PNPA offers qualified cadets a four-year residential scholarship program leading to a Bachelor of Science in Public Safety degree. Cadets receive education, professional training, pay and allowances while preparing for careers in public service.

Upon graduation, qualified cadets may be appointed as officers in the Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), or Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP).
