yKalinga beauty queen advances to Ms. Universe Philippines Top 32

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Ghenesis Dalayday Latugat, representing Baguio City, is a step closer to the Miss Universe Philippines 2022 crown after she made it to the cut on April 6.

The Miss Universe Philippines revealed that Ghenesis, who is from Tabuk City, is among the 32 candidates who will be competing for the in-person coronation night at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City on April 30.

In a reveal video, Host Nico Locco explained that 30 of the 32 candidates were chosen by panelists based on their performance in the online challenges and that the fan votes in every challenge were not considered in the selection.

Meantime, the two other finalists were said to have been chosen through Kumu, a streaming platform. One of the said finalists is Shawntel Cruz of Benguet who was named as Kumunity’s Choice.

As recalled, Ghenesis earlier won the Fashion and Runway video challenge which was filmed on top of the Marcos Highway Tunnel.

In a Facebook post, Ghenesis expressed her gratitude to those who helped her get into the cut, saying it is time for her to prove that an Igorota like her belongs to the Universe.

“And it has finally begun 💫. Thank you, every one of you who helped take me this far. Now, it’s time for me to fully embrace this journey and prove that this Igorota belongs to the #Universe!” She wrote.
