15 Cagayan cops conferred with medals for exemplary performance

Baggao, Cagayan - In recognition of their exemplary performance as law enforcers, 15 police officers in Cagayan received medals from Philippine National Police Chief PGEN Nicolas Torre III at Camp Marcelo A. Adduru . 


The recognition was held on August 9, 2025, at the Police Regional Office II in Tuguegarao City as part of promoting the PNP’s 5-minute response time and inauguration of completed police facilities in the province. 


In a phone interview this August 11, one of the personnel of the Baggao Police Station said there were two kinds of medals given by the PNP Chief to the awardees.

These include the Medalya ng Kadakilaan (PNP Heroism Medal), which recognizes a cop’s heroic services and sacrifices for the good of the people, and the Medalya ng Kagalingan (PNP Medal of Merit), given to PNP personnel for acts of exemplary competence, bravery, and dedication to duty. 


Those who received the Medalya ng Kadakilaan were Officer-in-Charge of Baggao Police Station PLTCOL Noriel U. Lacangan, PSSg Nasser Cuaresma, PEMS Raquel P. Tagudin, PCMS Marlowe Lannu, PSSg Carlo Anthony Baggay, PSSg Ryan Laguinluin, PSSg Christian Marcos, and Pat. Plavie Quilang. 


For the Medalya ng Kagalingan, Lacangan and Cuaresma also got the award, along with PCPT Vicente Orquia Jr., PSMS Rachie Elpdedes, PSSg Romel Orpilla, PCpl Jim Bryan Bernardo, PMSG Mark Anthony Baccay, PCpl Deryl Jake Butacan, and PCPL Ralf Ballad. 


The cops were praised and reminded by Torre to continue being good and honest law enforcers for the benefit of the people they serve. 


Thankful for being recognized personally by their PNP Chief, said cops expressed their commitment to continue their diligent service, strengthening community ties and promoting peace within their respective communities.
