17 families affected due to CDE weather disturbances in Kalinga

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Kalinga Province logged at least 17 families affected by the series of weather disturbances that hit the country in the past days, according to a report by the Kalinga PDRRMC and MDRRM Pasil as of 4 PM of July 25.


Crising, Dante, Emong, and the intensified monsoon rains cause some flooding and landslides in the province, displacing some families who experienced partially to totally damaged houses.


The 17 families or 61 individuals affected come from various municipalities and the City. Pasil recorded the most number with 6 families from barangays Ableg, Balinciagao Norte, Balinciagao Sur, and Guinaang. Tabuk City logged 7 families - 5 in Dilag and 2 in San Julian. Meantime, Pinukpuk reported 3 families affected from Barangay Ballayangon, while Lubuagan had 1 family affected.

As to the number of damaged houses, the Kalinga PDRRMC said there are a total of 7 partially and totally damaged houses. One house was totally damaged due to flooding. The damaged house was near a creek in Dilag, Tabuk City. On the other hand, the six partially damaged houses were all recorded in Pasil.


No casualties or major injuries were documented during the CDE series of disturbances in the province.


Governor James S. Edduba, in an interview, said he is thankful that there are no cases of casualties nor injuries during the onslaught of the three weather disturbances, adding that he is pleased with the immediate response and actions of the front line service providers of the PLGU and the national line agencies in the province.


Edduba, before the coming of Emong and during the time Crising and Dante were bringing heavy downpour to the province, had been directing and instructing the PDRRM Council to be on the alert with the strategic pre-positioning of equipment, manpower, and food aid.


Other damages brought by TY ‘Emong’


On the latest report on the roads and bridges section, only the Lubuagan-Batongbuhay road KO476+300, Balatoc Pasil was reported not passable as of 09: 30 AM on July 25, 2025, due to a landslide. Nevertheless, clearing operations have been carried out.


Mt. Province boundary to Calanan Pinukpuk – Abbut road remains passable even after a reported landslide in the area.
