Peñablanca, Cagayan – After months of seeking justice for 18-year-old LGBTQIA+ member Gian Molina of Zone 7, Centro, Peñablanca - who was brutally killed in June this year - the family has finally been informed of the arrest of Gian’s suspected killer.

On the morning of November 1, 2025, a 19-year-old man, identified by the alias “Win”, single, a student, and a resident of Barangay Ugac Sur, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan, was arrested for the crime of murder following a successful operation conducted by the Police Regional Office 2 (PRO2) through a Joint Tracker Team.

According to PRO2, the arrest was made by virtue of a Warrant of Arrest issued on October 17, 2025, by the Regional Trial Court, Branch 3, Tuguegarao City, for the crime of murder—with no bail recommended.

In an interview with GURU Press Cordillera, Police Major Sharon C. Mallillin, referred by the PRO2 Regional Tactical Operations Center, confirmed that alias “Win” is the prime suspect in Gian’s death and is listed as the No. 3 Regional Most Wanted Person in Cagayan.

Further details regarding the arrest were withheld by PRO2.

To recall, Gian was found dead along a river at the Amulung–Iguig boundary on June 23, 2025, a day after she left home to stay at a friend’s house in Peñablanca. Her family reported her missing and later confirmed that the recovered body was hers.

Initial police reports revealed that a man named Sherwin had surrendered after being linked to the crime. He admitted picking Gian up that night but denied killing her, claiming that two or three other individuals were involved.
