Isabela, Philippines – Two construction workers died following a crash between a motorcycle and a van along a bypass road in Guibang, Gamu, Isabela on Sunday night, October 02, 2022.
Gamu Police Station identified the fatalities as motorcycle rider Randy Ramos, 36, and back rider Randy Lariosa, 44, both from Naguilian, Isabela.
According to witnesses, the vehicles were both moving recklessly when the incident happened.
Police investigation revealed that the van said to be driven by Sgt. Benedicto Yacat Jr. of the 5th Infantry Division Philippine Army encroached on the other line, causing it to crash into the motorcycle.
The victims were brought to Governor Faustino N. Dy Memorial Hospital but were declared dead on arrival due to severe head and body injuries they sustained from the collision.
A case of reckless imprudence resulting in double homicide is being prepared against Yacat.
