2 fires erupted in a day in Cagayan

Tuguegarao City, Cagayan - Two fire incidents were recorded in the province of Cagayan on Monday, April 15, 2024.

 

The first incident took place in the morning in Solana, while the second one transpired in Piat in the evening.

 

In Solana, Cagayan, a two-storey house in Barangay Bangag, owned by Lourdes Dumlao, 60, was gutted by fire at around 9 a.m.

Lourdes told authorities that she heard something explode in her husband’s room before the fire escalated.

 

Investigation conducted by the Bureau of Fire Protection - Solana disclosed that a spark in the light socket used in the said room might have caused the blaze.

 

The fire destroyed the first and second floors of the house except for the kitchen, which was only slightly burnt. The initial cost of the damage left by the fire is at P96,000. Fortunately, no casualties or injuries were recorded.

 

Fire in Piat


In Piat, Cagayan, a grass fire occurred at a farm in Barangay Villa at around 6 o'clock in the evening. The affected areas reached two hectares.

 

The BFP - Piat disclosed that no crops were damaged since only stalks and leaves from the harvested sugarcane were burned.
