La Trinidad, Benguet – Two suspected members of a robbery hold-up/carnapping group end up dead, while their companion was injured after a gunfight with the police early morning on December 10 in La Trinidad.

The encounter happened after 3 suspicious men in a Mitsubishi Lancer Sedan were spotted at a gasoline station at the Baguio-Bontoc Road in Barangay Tomay and were reported to the police, Mt. Province Broadcasting Corporation – MPBC reported.

After verification by operatives, the vehicle with WIN-580 plate number was said to be illegally transferred as the number was assigned to a Mitsubishi Adventure.

When responding personnel tried to approach the three, the suspects fired at the authorities, then tried to flee through the Lamut – Shilan Road.

The armed encounter resulted in the death of the two men, while the other one was wounded and was rushed to the hospital for medical intervention.

No one was hurt on the part of the government enforcers.
