2 women dead in Baguio after parked van breaks loose and runs over them

Baguio City, Philippines – Two women died when they were run over by a parked van that broke loose on Saturday evening in Baguio City.

 

The victims ages 35 and 60 were declared dead on arrival at the hospital following the accident at Cypress Irisan around 7:15 a.m. on July 12, according to Baguio City Public Information Office.

 

Initial investigation of the Baguio City Police Office revealed that the two were ran over by a Kia Vesta van which was described to have an improperly engaged handbrake, causing it to roll away and hit the victims.

 

The accident also injured three others – a 34-year-old woman and the two kids of one of the fatalities who are ages 9 and 3. The 34-year-old was said to be in critical condition as of 9:00 p.m. yesterday, while the two children were declared out of danger.

 

Investigation of the incident is ongoing.
