20-yr.-old man jailed for sexual abuse of half-sister in Cagayan

Baggao, Cagayan – After a rape victim from Baggao, Cagayan got the courage to disclose the sexual abuse she experienced from her half- brother, she now gets the justice she had been clamoring for.

Her half-brother, a 20-year-old construction worker, single and whose identity is withheld to protect the anonymity of the victim was arrested by authorities on Sunday, May 5, 2024.

Report of the Cagayan Information Office revealed the suspect is the province’s Top 1 Most Wanted Person.

As disclosed by the victim, it was last year when she was first molested by her brother while the second instance happened January this year.

The incident happened at their home while their mom was away and when the suspect was intoxicated, the victim further narrated to authorities.

Just like other rape victims, the victim was not able to confide in what had happened to her beforehand since she was threatened by the suspect.

It was only this time that she got the courage to narrate to her parents what happened, resulting in the immediate arrest of the suspect.

The suspect, meantime, now faces two counts of statutory rape charges which are non-bailable.

He was brought to the Baggao Municipal Police Station for documentation prior to his turnover to the court of origin.

Relative to this, another rape suspect was also apprehended Tuesday, May 7, after allegedly molesting her own daughter.

The 39-year-old suspect, who is listed as the provincial top 7 most wanted person in Cagayan, is also from Baggao town.
