Tuguegarao City, Cagayan – In the midnight hours when people are supposed to be safe at home and sleeping, an incident transpired that claimed the life of a 21-year-old man at Dreamer’s Bridge in Caggay, Tuguegarao City, on Sunday, March 24.
The victim's body was retrieved by personnel from the Bureau of Fire Protection Tuguegarao and the BFP Special Rescue Force Regional Office 2.
Authorities were notified about the incident around midnight on the said date and promptly responded.
Accordingly, the man identified as Jaycee Rueco Cabutaje from Alcala was riding a motorcycle when he proceeded to the bridge. He was said to be under the influence of alcohol.
Witnesses saw him speeding and, in doing so, he veered into the unbarricaded portion of the bridge, resulting in a fall.
After his body was retrieved, he was later brought to the Cagayan Valley Medical Center but was pronounced dead on arrival.
In response to the incident, authorities have already put up barricades at the bridge for such an event not to happen again.
