27-yr.-old man electrocuted and fell to his death while working in a building in Cagayan

Camalaniugan, Cagayan - A 27-year-old construction crew died after he was electrocuted and fell off from the third floor of an under-construction building at the public market in Camalaniugan, Cagayan on Thursday, August 15.

 

The deceased, identified by the police as Loreto Ligad, was a resident of Barangay Felipe Tuzon in said municipality.

 

An investigation conducted by the Camalaniugan PNP revealed that Ligad was working that day on the third floor of the building when the iron bar he was holding accidentally touched a live wire.

 

The electrocution caused him to be disoriented and then he accidentally plunged to the ground.

 

Ligad suffered electrical burns due to the electrocution while his body was also injured severely after the fall.

 

The responding authorities rushed him first to the Matilde Olivas District Hospital and was later transferred to a hospital in Tuguegarao City where he was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.
