Reina Mercedes, Isabela - Despite immediate medical attention by health authorities, a 28-year-old man in Reina Mercedes, Isabela, was not able to survive the injuries he sustained from a tragic road accident.

The man was identified as Mark Acob, a resident of Barangay Dangan, Reina Mercedes, who was working as a salesman.

A report from the police obtained by the XFM-Santiago revealed that Acob was riding his motorcycle on July 22 on his way to Barangay Dangan when he suddenly lost control of the vehicle, causing it to crash straight into an electric post by the roadside.

It was said that the impact of the crash was severe, with Acob suffering serious injuries to various parts of his body.

A video uploaded online captured the aftermath of the accident and how unconscious he was while being given first aid by responding personnel of the Reina Mercedes MDRRMO. Acob was later brought to a hospital, but the attending physician declared him dead on arrival.

In Facebook posts of his friends and relatives, Jacob was described as a god-fearing man who never drank alcohol, a companion in service, and a friend who had shared countless memories with those around him.

Paalam kuya Makmak,” wrote one of his church mates.

As of this writing, authorities are conducting further investigation to determine why the victim lost control of the vehicle.
