Tabuk City, Kalinga – A total of 3,948 individuals across Kalinga Province have been affected by the wrath of Super Typhoon Uwan, which brought flooding, landslides, and road closures in several municipalities—prompting preemptive evacuations and relief operations by local authorities.

According to the initial consolidated reports from local disaster response teams submitted to the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) as of 5:00 p.m. on November 10, 2025, the affected individuals belong to 1,265 families residing in various barangays across the province.

Of the total number of families, 341 families (1,080 individuals) are currently housed in government evacuation facilities, while 313 families (1,073 individuals) are staying with their relatives. Evacuation centers have been opened across the province, providing temporary shelter, food, and medical assistance to displaced residents.

Meanwhile, road access has also been disrupted, with some sections rendered impassable due to landslides and flooding.

Clearing operations are underway as the PDRRMO, led by Governor James S. Edduba and Vice Governor Dave Q. Odiem, along with the DPWH–Kalinga District Engineering Office (DPWH–KDEO), local DRRM teams, and other concerned agencies, continue to monitor high-risk zones.

Authorities are urging residents, especially those in landslide- and flood-prone areas, to remain alert and follow evacuation advisories as rains continue to affect the Cordillera region even after the typhoon’s passage.

Super Typhoon Uwan, which made landfall in Aurora Province before crossing Northern Luzon, has since affected almost the entire Cordillera region and continues to bring heavy rains and gusty winds over parts of the area.
