3 dead in San Julian, Tabuk City shootout; PNP tells relatives of victims not to take matters into their hands

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Three men were no longer breathing when they were found by the police responding to an alleged shootout in San Julian, Tabuk City on Thursday morning, April 24.

 

In the information relayed by Kalinga Police Provincial Director, PCol. James Mangili to GURU Press Cordillera, it was around 7:00 a.m. when the police were alerted of a gunfight in Purok 7, San Julian.

 

Arriving at the scene, authorities found three men lying on the ground with long firearms – M16 Rifles and shotgun – beside them. These individuals were identified by the police as Santos Calsiyao, Tokar Calsiyao, and Leo Palat Calsiyao.


 Initial findings of investigators revealed that the three victims had a gunfight with yet to be identified individuals.

 

Authorities already launched a hot pursuit operation for the identification and arrest of the suspects and that further investigation on the incident is ongoing.

 

With authorities on the move, PCol. Mangili asked the family not to take matters into their own hands and to let the police do their job.

 

“The PNP strongly condemns and strongly discourage any retaliation from the family of the victims, let the law enforcers do their job,” he said. 

 

The Kalinga police provincial director likewise told the public not to panic, assuring them that the PNP is doing their duty to maintain public order and security.
