3 farmers arrested for burning trees in Alfonso Lista, Ifugao

Alfonso Lista, Ifugao – Three individuals accused of arson and tagged as the top most wanted in Alfonso Lista, Ifugao are now in police custody, according to the town’s police chief.

 

Police Captain Ruben Balanoy, the Chief of the Alfonso Lista Police Station, said that operatives served the arrest warrants of the three suspects in two separate operations on Wednesday, August 6, in Sitio Kubo, Kiling.

 

The three identified suspects are farmers: a 53-year-old woman, a 48-year-old woman, and a 48-year-old man.

These accused individuals, who are tagged as No. 2, No. 3, and No. 4 top most wanted at the municipal level for the third quarter of 2025. They have arrest warrants for Violation of Article 321 or the Revised Penal Code (Other Forms of Arson) with P120,000 recommended bail for their temporary freedom.

 

Balanoy said the suspects entered a farm and burned fruit-bearing trees. The police chief didn’t mention how many trees were destroyed due to the fire created by the accused arsonists.

 

The Alfonso Lista Chief of Police, in an interview, conveyed that they will continue to uphold the law and enforce their mandate to serve and protect the people.

 

“On behalf of Alfonso Lista MPS, we would like to acknowledge the support of the community and the LGU, which are vital in the success of our operations to arrest wanted individuals and to maintain the peace and order in our community,” Balanoy said.
