33-yr.-old man arrested for molesting minor in Cagayan in 2016

Gonzaga, Cagayan – A 33-year-old hog dealer was arrested on Monday, February 12, in Gonzaga, Cagayan, after allegedly molesting a minor back in 2016.

The victim was left with her aunt, who is the wife of the suspect when her mother left the country to work abroad.

Although the incident occurred on June 12, 2016, the victim did not promptly disclose what the suspect had done to her, as she was waiting for her mother to return to Amulung.

When her mother returned last year, she recounted what had happened, prompting her mother to file a case on November 9 of that year.

It was in February of this year when an arrest warrant was issued, prompting the police to apprehend the suspect.

According to the arrest warrant, no bail is recommended for the suspect, identified as alias Peping, who is tagged as the Provincial top 1 most wanted person in Cagayan.

Currently, the suspect is held at the Cagayan Provincial Jail.

Meanwhile, another statutory rape offender was apprehended by police in Barangay Mocag, Baggao, Cagayan, on Tuesday, February 13.

The suspect, identified by police as alias Paolo, aged 20 and a student, is the Regional top 7 most wanted person in Cagayan Valley, according to Cagayan Police.

On the same day, a rape offender from Tuao, Cagayan, was likewise captured for violating RA 8353, or the “Act Expanding the Definition of the Crime of Rape and Reclassifying the same as Crime Against Persons."
