Tabuk City, Kalinga – With the start of national ID registration in the province on Monday, February 1, 2021, Philippine Statistics Authority-Kalinga said Wednesday they are working on gathering demographic data of the 34,020 targeted individuals coming from poverty-stricken families.

In an interview with PSA-Kalinga Supervising Statistician Specialist Randolf Laderas , he said trained data collectors from PSA are now conducting house to house visits to gather personal information of identified recipients. Among the personal information being asked are: date of birth, place of birth, sex, permanent and present address, blood type, mobile number, marital status and email address.

The interviews currently being conducted are the first step for the registration.

“Initially, daytuy roll out na gamin, ti priority ti government pailaeng ket dagidiay barangays or household nga poor or poor families, isu ti target iti national government,” Laderas stated.

According to Laderas, Municipal/City Local government units extended their help to the agency through identifying the recipients for the roll out.

Of the total population identified, 1,951 individuals were selected by LGU Balbalan, 1,397 by LGU Lubuagan, 1,543 by LGU Pasil, 5,123 by LGU Pinukpuk, 2,725 by LGU Rizal, 17,698 by LGU Tabuk City , 1,525 by LGU Tanudan , and 2,058 by LGU Tinglayan .

Data gathered from the interviewees will be uploaded to the database of Philsys Registry Office. The officer assured the data is secured as this is covered by Data Privacy Act.

For the step 2 of the registration, the PSA Statistician said they will be capturing biometrics of those individuals after undergoing the first process which is programmed to be completed on March 31, 2021.

“Umay tu dagidiay na-iregister tayu, dagituy 34,020 nga initial ngay nga population count nga umay da for the step 2 for us to capture their biometrics, like the fingerprints da, iris scan, ken diay photo da,” Laderas said.

This, according to him, will start by second quarter of 2021.

After going through said steps, recipients could already avail their national IDs after validation by the PhilSys Registry Office.

When asked about the benefits of having the said ID, Laderas said it would be used for faster delivery of government agencies’ social services.

Selected recipients are then encouraged by Laderas to provide truthful data to the data collectors for better implementation of said government program.
