Lubuagan, Kalinga – Lubuagan recently produced their first batch of trainees to pass courses of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) which prepares them for a start-up or a small business.

The trainees were the first enrollees to attend training of the two program courses offered since TESDA opened its satellite office in the municipality.

The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Lubuagan initiated the establishment of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) satellite office in the municipality for its constituents to have the opportunity to avail of the agency’s programs without having to travel to the provincial center early this year.

Immediately after the establishment of the satellite office, TESDA launched several skills training and scholarship programs, such as the Bread and Pastry Production (BPP), Agriculture Trainings, and Production of Hybrid Rice.

According to TESDA- Lubuagan focal person Jeslyn Lumacdag, a total of thirty-eight (38) trainees are expected to graduate from Bread and Pastry Production NCII and Organic Agriculture Production NCII courses.

However, the groups’ graduation ceremony is yet to be done once the schedule is finalized, she clarified.

Meantime in a separate interview with Lubuagan Mayor Charisma Anne Dickpus, she hopes that more iLubuagen will avail of TESDA’s skills development programs for them to build confidence in their own ability that will boost their chances of employability if not create their own business.
