Isabela, Philippines - A 48-year-old police officer was found dead while attending schooling at the Regional Training Center (RTC) 2 in Cauayan, Isabela, last week.

The victim was identified as Police Senior Master Sergeant Patrick Bumilac, a resident of Barangay San Leonardo, Aglipay, Quirino province, and was undergoing the Public Safety Senior Leadership Course (PSSLC) at the RTC 2.

Reports from police obtained by the XFM-Santiago narrated that the cop was discovered lifeless with his face lying down between a patrol car and the fence inside the training facility on Saturday night, July 12, 2025.

The police officer was immediately rushed to the hospital upon discovery, but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.

Police investigation revealed that the victim had a history of hypertension and had suffered two previous attacks related to high blood pressure. His family believes that the cause of death was due to his health condition. The family declined to have the body undergo an autopsy.

With that, police concluded that there was no foul play in the incident.

The victim’s body, as stated in the report, was brought to his parents’ residence in Hingyon, Ifugao, for the wake and burial arrangement.
