49-yr.-old police officer dies in ambulance - motorcycle collision in Isabela

Ilagan City, Isabela - A 49-year-old police officer from Enrile, Cagayan, died after the motorcycle he was riding crashed into an ambulance on Saturday, March 2, 2024, in Ilagan City, Isabela.

The victim, identified as Police Lieutenant Joaquin Accad, resided in Barangay Tanaru II, Enrile.

Ilagan police reported that Accad was traveling along the road in Barangay Baligatan when an ambulance driven by Hilario Pasion, 50, collided with his vehicle.

An investigation revealed that Pasion encroached on the victim’s lane, resulting in the collision.

As a result, Accad sustained severe injuries to various parts of his body.

The responding medical team rushed him to a hospital in the city. Unfortunately, he was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.

Meanwhile, Pasion was taken to the Ilagan City Police Station for further investigation. He will be facing charges of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide and damage to property.
