Baguio City, Philippines – Ahead of the Grand Alumni Homecoming of the “Cavaliers,” a 54-year-old alumna of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) died on the morning of Saturday, February 21, after collapsing during the PMA Game of the Cavaliers Golf Tournament held at the Camp John Hay Golf Course in Baguio City.

The annual golf tournament is a long-standing tradition among PMA graduates, serving as a prelude to the academy’s Grand Alumni Homecoming. The event aims to reconnect and renew camaraderie before alumni return to their alma mater for formal reunion rites.

The victim, whose identity was not disclosed, was reportedly from Laguna. According to fellow participants, as reported by Mountain Beacon, the alumna was preparing to tee off at the second hole when she suddenly collapsed.

Her flight mates immediately performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation before rushing her to a nearby hospital, where she was unfortunately declared dead on arrival.

The incident cast a somber mood over the reunion activities, as classmates and fellow Cavaliers mourned the loss of a batch mate who had returned to the city to celebrate their shared bond and years of service.

As of this writing, authorities have yet to release the report on official cause of death.
