CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela — A 61-year-old man wanted in connection with a case of statutory acts of lasciviousness was arrested in Roxas, Isabela, on October 10, police reported.

The suspect, identified only by the alias “Erning,” a resident of Burgos, Isabela, was arrested at around 2:20 p.m. in Barangay Quiling through the implementation of a warrant of arrest.

The operation was led by the Burgos Municipal Police Station, with assistance from the Isabela Police Provincial Office’s Provincial Intelligence Unit and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group’s Isabela Provincial Field Unit.

The warrant carried a recommended bail of ₱180,000 and was recorded in the police E-Warrant System.

Isabela Police Provincial Director PCOL Manuel B. Bringas said the arrest was part of continuing efforts to locate wanted individuals and implement court-issued warrants.

“Every successful operation against wanted persons is part of our continuing efforts to hold law violators accountable and maintain the safety of our communities,” Bringas said.

He added that police would continue intelligence-driven operations and coordination among units to ensure that suspects are brought before the proper legal authorities.

Isabela rape-case figures

In June 2025, the Regional Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking and Violence Against Women and Their Children reported 28 pending rape cases in Isabela, the second-highest number among provinces in Cagayan Valley at the time, following Cagayan’s 254 cases. Quirino had 23, while Nueva Vizcaya had 16; no cases were reported from Batanes.

The figure refers to pending cases at the time of the report and should not be interpreted as the total number of rape incidents recorded in Isabela in 2025 or 2026.
