Ramon, Isabela—Authorities in Isabela are now hunting down the driver of a pickup truck who fled after fatally hitting a 66-year-old woman along the Santiago-Tuguegarao Road in Ramon, Isabela on September 17, 2025.

The elderly woman, hidden under the name “Ria,” a resident of Barangay Burgos, Ramon, succumbed to the severe injuries she sustained from the accident.

Ramon PNP Chief Police Major Jay-Ar Ol-Yaon, according to a local media outlet, said Ria was attempting to cross the said road that day when a pickup suddenly came, hitting her hard and knocking her to the concrete road.

Instead of stopping to check on the old woman, the driver immediately fled the crime scene, leaving the victim lying on the road.

Ria was rushed to the hospital, but she was not able to survive as she was pronounced dead despite efforts to save her life.

Ol-Yaon said CCTV footage captured the incident, but the quality of the video, coupled with the rainy weather at the time, made it difficult for them to identify the vehicle’s plate number. The footage taken cannot clearly determine the color either.

The Police Officer added they already coordinated with neighboring towns, including San Mateo and Alfonso Lista, to track down the vehicle, while urging the public to come forward and share any relevant information that could assist in identifying and apprehending the hit-and-run driver.
