7 Dengue-related deaths recorded in Baguio in past 7 months

Baguio City, Philippines –The Baguio City Health Services Office renewed their call for the public to take part in combatting Dengue and prevent the spread of the virus as they reported seven casualties of the virus.


The death toll to said virus was an accumulated number of casualties in the past seven months.


In her interview with local media, Doctor Donabel Panes of the Baguio City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit shared that they documented 3,005 cases of dengue in Baguio from January – July, this year.


Of the total cases, 1, 527 of them were females, while 1, 478 were males.


According to Panes, the cases decreased in the last week of July. However, records showed that seven already died in the past seven months.


With this ongoing health problem, Panales urged barangay health workers and barangay officials to continue monitoring their areas particularly places where there are positive dengue cases to prevent the rapid spread of the virus.


The public, meantime, is advised to maintain cleanliness in their homes as it will help the city government in its fight against dengue.
