In said ordinance, each scholar will get P4,000 as educational support. Beneficiaries are those in senior high school and college students studying in the Province of Kalinga.

The educational grant to college students is being given every semester and every school year for senior high school students.

Reason for requiring voter’s registration

Executive Assistant to the Governor, Elizabeth Balais, said that among the requirements that the scholarship applicants needed to comply during the application held in August 2021 is their voter’s registration.

She stressed that this is not for political purposed, but the voter’s registration was required as proof of residency of the students or their parents, considering that the scholarship grant should be distributed to cover all the municipalities.

“Tapnu maamwan met nu mano nga slot iti para iti Pasil, para Lubuagan para ammu tayo nu anya iti pangikabilan kanyada. Siyempre nu nag-register da iti Tabuk, pang-Tabuk da kuma [nga slot],” she explained.

Meantime, Balais said that the offices at the Kalinga Provincial Local Government Unit through the leadership of Governor Tubban, are working together in order to help the parents send their children to school and to help deserving students finish their studies.

“Kayat met laeng a makatulong ni governor kadagitoy parents lalo na ngayon ta pandemic ta awan unay trabaho dagiti tattao tatta,” she expressed.
