Tineg, Abra — The scenic province of Abra took the spotlight this week as it was featured in the popular travel documentary show Biyahe ni Drew, hosted by Drew Arellano. The episode showcased the province’s breathtaking landscapes, rich culture, and unique local delicacies to a national audience.

The feature is part of Biyahe ni Drew’s ongoing campaign to promote off-the-beaten-path destinations across the Philippines while encouraging responsible and sustainable tourism.

Aired on October 12, 2025, the documentary highlighted some of Abra’s most stunning sites, including the serene Apao Rolling Hills, Kili Falls and Hot Spring, Labo Falls in Daguioman, the famous Caparkan Falls, and Mother Falls, among others.

Mesmerized by the scenery, Drew admired the province’s majestic mountains and cool breeze, remarking that even a simple phone camera could capture its beauty.

“Look at this view. It’s surrounded by really good-looking mountains, and at the same time, the weather’s so nice—so windy. It’s very picturesque. Kahit hindi mo dala ang bike mo, dala mo lang yung phone mo—pasok na sa Instagram,” he said.

Nestled in the Cordilleras, Abra is composed of 27 towns and mountain peaks reaching up to 1,800 meters, towering over much of the surrounding region.

Aside from its scenic beauty, the October 12 episode also celebrated Abra’s vibrant traditions. Viewers got a glimpse of traditional dances and local cuisine, including lechon with a twist—flavored with cactus for a naturally sour taste—giving audiences a deeper appreciation of the province’s creativity and heritage.

With its stunning landscapes and rich culture now broadcast nationwide, Abra is poised to become one of the country’s next must-visit travel gems—emphasizing the importance of preserving its cultural identity and natural environment.
