Aguinaldo, Ifugao – The Department of the Interior and Local Government has cited the municipal government unit of Aguinaldo’s efficient operation of the peace and order council (POC).
Aguinaldo is among the 75 LGUs in the region with functional POCs for 2022, based on the report of the DILG – Cordillera.
Said department has been conducting POC performance audits to assess the councils’ effectiveness, recognize their advancements, and enhance their strategies and interventions.
To be tagged as functional, a POC must achieve a passing rate which is 70 percent and obtain a score of at least 50 percent in each of the five pillars, namely Organization, Meetings, Policies, Plan and Budget, Reports, General Supervision, and Innovations.
Meeting these criteria makes the POC eligible for recognition and awards, such as the Seal of Good and Local Governance, explained DILG - Cordillera Regional Director Araceli A. San Jose.
As one of the functional POCs, members of the local council of Aguinaldo have “consistently exhibited exemplary performance in implementing programs and policies that aim to enhance peace and order within their respective jurisdictions.”
“Also, they have shown dedication in safeguarding citizens from the negative influences present in our society,” added San Jose.
Mayor Gaspar Chilagan Jr. extended felicitations to his constituents and encouraged them to maintain their outstanding performance to ensure safety, development, and prosperity within the locality.
