ALL FOR THE LIQUOR: 45-yr.-old man in Isabela arrested for stealing a box of ‘Alfonso Light’

Isabela, Philippines – A 45-year-old driver in Isabela was recently arrested for stealing a box of booze at a Convenience Store along the Maharlika Highway in Purok 2, Plaridel, Santiago City.


According to the 37-year-old owner of the said store, as reported by XFM Santiago, he caught the suspect taking away a box of liquor containing one dozen of Alfonso Light worth P3,870 on August 24.

The owner immediately sought the assistance of the police, who then launched a manhunt operation to locate the suspect.


The man was later arrested by the police at his home, where they recovered 5 bottles of the stolen alcohol in his bag. The accused was brought to the Santiago City Custodial Facility and is expected to face a case of theft.


The same case, meantime, was reported in Cebu City on August 19, 2025, where a 21-year-old man was caught stealing two bottles of Johnnie Walker whisky from a supermarket.


When arrested and brought to the police station, the man admitted to having taken the liquor to sustain his addiction.
