Tabuk City, Kalinga – Thieves do not just simply break into houses and steal, some use another modus to get what they want like making unsuspecting house members believe they are a friend of one of the family members.

One of the latest targets of unscrupulous individuals in Tabuk City is a house on Wandag Street in Barangay Casigayan. Said dwelling was entered by a thief on Tuesday morning, January 21, 2025.

Laiah Rapada, whose father’s house was entered past 7:00 a.m., said that their elderly grandfather was left alone at their house when the stealing incident happened.

She recounted that the thief talked to her grandfather and pretended to know her father (the house owner) and that her father instructed this impostor to get something from the house for him. To make the grandfather believe, the unidentified man pretended to dial the house owner’s number and talked to him on the phone.

Rapada emphasized that the thief never called nor talked to her father as he claimed.

The man managed to enter the house and took the piggy bank which was estimated to be containing thousands of cash.

With the incident, Rapada is appealing to anyone who can identify the person who entered her father’s house and message her on her Facebook account if they have any information about the man or report to the police.
