Apayao to launch ‘Search for Taer ti Apayao’

It's not just the ladies; yApayao guys will now have the chance to showcase their wit, beauty, and talents in the world of pageantry, thanks to the provincial government of Apayao.

The province's pageant stage serves as their venture's kick-start.

This change comes as the provincial government broadens its annual search for representatives to regional and national pageants, now including men who can shine on a male pageant stage.

On February 14, during the 29th founding anniversary of the province, the 'Search for Taer ni Apayao' will run alongside the "Search for Dayag ti Apayao 2024."

Each town will send two representatives for the pageant, totaling 14 contenders.

The event aims to boost participants' confidence as they unravel hidden talents, contributing to the promotion of Apayao as a tourism hub.

During a meeting on January 10, Apayao Tourism Officer Rebecca Mamba encouraged local officials and working committees to elevate the local pageant show by handpicking individuals with the qualities of becoming the 'Taer and Dayag ti Apayao.'

"We want our young men and women to absorb our vast cultural identity and promote and preserve its historical significance," she added.

The stage will feature town representatives in production numbers, talent competitions, swimwear, native attire, and festival attire, with each town's presentation schedule yet to be finalized as the contender selection continues.
