Baguio City, Philippines – The summer capital has earned another national recognition, securing the 7th spot among the 10 Safest Cities in the Philippines for tourists in 2025, according to the World Travel Index (WTI) ranking.

Baguio recently received a noteworthy rating of 73.99%.

WTI is an independent global organization known for pioneering travel safety and destination quality rankings. The ranking, according to WTI, comes not merely as an applause to the city’s cool climate and scenic views, but more so as an affirmation of its efficient governance, local peace and order, and visitor-friendly environment.

It was also clarified that the rankings were not based on population size or aesthetics, but rather on how well local governments are doing in terms of safety, infrastructure, cost, and tourism readiness.

Other cities in the top 10 include Dumaguete leading in the rankings with 81.36 score, Davao City, 80.73; Bulacan, 76.42; Balanga, 76.15; Lucena, 75.24; Naga, 75.02; Puerto Princesa, 71.46; Legazpi City, 71.34 and Makati City, 70.41.

In the global ranking, WTI presented a total of 3,028 entries around the globe. Of the total number, Baguio City ranked 1,539th, placing in the mid-tier of the world’s safest cities.

To qualify in the rankings, a city must get a passable score across five categories -  availability of Total/Travel Guide, cost [of living], activities, infrastructure/worth visiting, and safety itself.
