Want to try Baguio City's new electric mini-bus?


Baguio City, Philippines – Baguio City will launch mobility test runs for the electric mini-bus project from November 20 to December 3, 2022, according to Baguio City Information Office.


The project is under the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the Department of Transportation (DOTr) which aims to work on policies and programs for low-carbon urban transport systems to make them more environment friendly.


The city local government unit said they are ready to try out driving the 2 units of City Optimized Managed Electric Transport (COMET).


The said electric mini-bus will be tested on the steepest roads of the city including the routes going to Mines View that will be scheduled on November 20-26 and to Aurora Hill (CBD) from November 27-December 3.


The time of operation will be from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and the pick-up and drop-off points will only be at Harrison Road loading/unloading area near the Ganza Parking entrance.


During the test run, the city government offers a free ride to the public. They only need to download the GET-PASS app from Google Play Store and register for them to avail of the free rides.

COMET electric mini-buses


COMET electric mini-buses were manufactured and owned by Global Electric Transport (GET) with 18 seating and 12 standing person capacity.


The COMET uses a Lithium Ferrophosphate battery with rated energy of 53.47kWh. Its Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) has a torque of 270 Nm and a peak power of 120kW.
