Tabuk City, Kalinga – Governor James Edduba reminded the iKalingas who recently graduated from the Philippine Military Academy to continue upholding the good reputation of the province through genuine public service as they begin their careers in the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).

During the provincial government’s flag-raising ceremony on Monday, May 25, at the Kalinga Sports Complex, Edduba recognized the achievements of the members of the PMA “Talang Dangal” Class of 2026.

The graduates are 2LT Braille Van Lobhoy PA, ENS Byron B. Banog PN, 2LT Cydan Zack Romero PA, 2LT Lorainne Addamo PA, ENS Gibea Puday PN, 2LT Nika Daluping PAF, 2LT Christian Ayabo PA, 2LT Emmanuel John Sorita PA, and 2LT Nerissa Daluyen PA.

In his message, Edduba shared that many of the offices he has visited are staffed by iKalingas who continue to earn respect and positive remarks because of their dedication and performance in public service.

With this, he encouraged the graduates to preserve that image by remaining humble and committed to their duties despite the challenges that come with military service.

“Kadagiti napnapanak nga high offices, halos adda ti taga Kalinga, ket nagmayat ti comments da. So, congratulations kanyayo, itutuloy yo ti agbalin nga modelo,” Edduba said.

The governor further stressed that leadership is not measured by rank alone but by integrity, accountability, and sincere concern for the people they serve.

“Saan laeng nga agserbi tayo iti pagilian, no di ket ikarkararag mi met nga ituloy yo ti mangipakita iti kinapudno ken panagtulnog iti tunggal trabaho nga maited kadakayo. Dakayo ti mangitakder iti nagan ti Kalinga,” he added.

Meanwhile, during an earlier courtesy visit to the governor’s office, the graduates expressed pride and gratitude for completing their training at the country’s premier military academy.

They also thanked the provincial government for supporting youth who aspire to pursue careers in military service.

“As new graduates of PMA, we feel happy and proud of our achievements. We are trained to be military professionals. This journey was not easy, but as iKalingas, we are born to be warriors,” the cadets said.
