Baguio E-Lions remains undisputed champion for 23 years in CARAA Meet

Luna, Apayao – The Baguio City E-Lions continues to rule the Cordillera Administrative Region Athletic Association Meet for over two decades now.


Following their first overall championship title in 2008, stars continued to align for the team, and for this year’s edition, they clinched anew said title after hauling 238 gold, 111 silver, and 72 bronze.


In said medal tally, the elementary division contributed 85 gold medals, 35 silver, and 19 bronze, while their secondary counterpart generated 153 gold, 76 silver, and 53 bronze.


The majority of the gold medals came from the players in arnis, swimming, athletics, dance sports, taekwondo, boxing, and archery.


In the elementary division, Arnis players for both boys and girls got 14 gold, while their secondary counterparts produced 18 gold.


For swimming, 28 gold (14 boys, 14 girls) were hauled by the elementary pupil-athletes while for the secondary, they were able to take home 41 gold (21,20).


For athletics, the younger ones bagged 9 gold (7,2) while the high schoolers amassed 16 gold (12,4).


Both elementary and secondary divisions emerged triumphant in the dance sports as they almost grabbed all the gold medals. The former collected 12 gold, while the latter got 10.


In Taekwondo, the pupil-athletes got 8 gold (5,3), while the student-athletes got 15 (9,6). Their boxers, meantime, collected 5 gold.


Lastly, in archery, the team accumulated 15 gold and only shared 1 with Kalinga Bulls.
