Balbalan Mayor orders lockdown of 2 Barangays

Balbalan, Kalinga─ Balbalan Mayor Eric Gonayon ordered a 15-day temporary lockdown to barangays Talalang and Poblacion for purposes of contact tracing of the recorded 14 new COVID-19 cases in the municipality.

Said municipality was placed under temporary lockdown through Executive Order No. 2, series of 2021 today, January 08.

This is after the municipality has recorded 14 new confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 who are residents of barangays Talalang and Poblacion.

The order said the situation calls for an urgent need to place the barangays on temporary lockdown anticipating the possibility of other residents for being exposed or infected with the infectious disease.

Meantime, Municipal Health Officer Dr. Esther Roselle Calma contact tracing of the possible contacts is on-going.

Calma is appealing to residents and those who had been in close contact to cooperate on the contact tracing.

Residents are advised to observe health protocols and limit movements outside their homes, except for essential and emergency cases.
