Tinglayan Brgy. Officials capacitated, now ready to deliver more effective and efficient service

Tinglayan, Kalinga – Newly-elected barangay officials are currently undergoing a Basic Orientation Course in the municipality of Tinglayan to ensure effective and efficient leadership throughout their term.

 

Organized by the Department of Interior and Local Government-Kalinga, the orientation started on Tuesday, March 5, and will last until Friday, March 8.

 

Officials from the 20 barangays of Tinglayan were divided into two batches, with the first batch of officials completing their training today, March 6.

 

These officials, consisting of barangay secretaries, treasurers, Indigenous Peoples Mandatory Representatives, and Sangguniang Kabataan chairpersons, came from Buscalan, Ambato, Basao, Butbut Proper, Dananao, Tulgao West, Sumadel I, Sumadel II, Belong Man-ubal, and Ngibat.

 

Meanwhile, Batch 2 consists of officials from Bangad Centro, Bugnay, Locong, Luplupa Mallango, Poblacion, Tulgao East, Upper Bangad, Old Tinglayan, and Lower Bangad.

 

On their first day, the officials were educated on the basics of RA 7160 for barangays, or the Local Government Code of 1991, the Barangay Development Planning (BDP), the Capacity Development Agenda Formulation Process, and the barangay budget.

 

As for the second day, officials delved into topics such as participation in governance, the DILG and its programs, projects, and activities for barangays, public ethics and accountability, and the barangay agenda for governance and development.

 

Serving as resource speakers are DILG Cluster Head LGOO VII Kliene Chunanon, LGOO VI Maria A. Guiawan of MLGOO Lubuagan, and LGOO VI Franchita L. Gayudan of MLGOO Tinglayan.
