Barangays Gawaan and Pantikian in Balbalan are SBLGB Awardee

Balbalan, Kalinga – Commending two villages in Balbalan for their outstanding governance, Mayor Almar Malannag encourages them to continue their good practices and share them with the other barangays in town.

Barangays Gawaan and Pantikian recently engraved their names in the list of the Seal of Good Local Governance for Barangays (SGLGB) 2024 national recipients in the country, earning them national recognition and the praises of their Mayor.

The SGLGB is a manifestation of a barangay’s outstanding performance across various governance areas. It is an award given by the Department of Interior and Local Government which encourages all barangays in the Philippines to continuously improve their services and governance practices.

With this feat, Mayor Malannag pushed the two barangays to keep up with their good and hard work which paved their way to the award. He also urged them to share their practices to the rest of the barangays in Balbalan so that the municipality will have more SGLGB awardees next year.

“Next year, kayat ko pay nga manaynayunan pay iti barangay nga ma-award an iti kasta, isu kunak kanyada ibaga yu kadagiay daduma nga barangays ditoy Balbalan nu anya inaramid yu, kasanu nga na-achieve yu dayta, ibaga yu tapnu amin next year kuma, nu mabalbalin, ket ma-award an,” he said.
