Benguet LGU distributes almost P2M aid to 162 individuals in crisis

Benguet, Mt. Province – The provincial government of Benguet, through the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) distributed around P2 million cash aid to 162 individuals in the province.

The beneficiaries received their financial aid Monday, July 10, 2023, at the Benguet Provincial Hall.

The amount of assistance given varies since the agency based it on their assessment of the clients.

According to Melba Marcos Motio, Acting Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer, some of the recipients received P5,000, while others received cash assistance ranging from P10,000 to P20,000.

These include medical assistance, burial, and house damage, among others.

Motio hoped that the beneficiaries would use the financial aid received properly, especially in the purchase of medicines and other necessities.

Meantime, Provincial Governor Melchor D. Diclas, through his social media account, said that individuals who want to avail of the program are advised to seek assistance from their respective municipal local government units.
