Baguio City, Philippines — A proud son of Benguet brought honor to the Philippines as Granville Michael Louie Raymundo won the third runner-up title at the 9th Mister Tourism World pageant held in Thailand on February 12, 2026.

The Mister Tourism World pageant brings together men from around the globe to promote tourism, cultural understanding, and international goodwill. It champions responsible travel, cultural preservation, and youth engagement in tourism, with the event hosted in a different country each year.

This year, the competition was held at the Khum Kham International Convention Center in Chiang Mai. Raymundo, representing the Philippines and hailing from Benguet, stood out among global contenders for his charisma, confidence, and commitment to tourism advocacy.

During the Q&A segment, Granville was asked how tourism could promote peace and understanding among different cultures. He responded by emphasizing the role of education and responsible tourism in fostering global harmony.

“Tourism can promote peace through education. We educate people through the tourism industry. As long as we provide accurate information, the moment we educate ourselves through it, we learn how to respect each individual for a sustainable tourism industry,” he said.

Granville also received the Best in National Costume award for his striking ensemble, Anak ni Kabunian: The Cordilleran Guardian, a modern warrior-inspired design celebrating his Cordilleran heritage. He likewise won the Popular Vote Award, reflecting strong worldwide support.

Meanwhile, Phacharaphon Suksamran of Thailand was crowned Mister Tourism World 2026, with Ernesto Ahumada of Mexico as first runner-up and Alijah Johnson of the United States as second runner-up. Raymundo’s third runner-up finish, along with his special awards, highlighted the Philippines’ strong presence on the international stage.
