La Trinidad, Benguet – Benguet State University (BSU) recently landed on the list of Top Performing Schools (TPS) in the country for the November 2025 Agriculture Licensure Exam, emerging as Top 7 and the only university in the region to make it to the list.

The university earned its spot with 180 passers out of 224 examinees, recording an impressive 81.52% passing rate for first-time takers and an overall passing rate of 80.36%.

With its reputation as the “Salad Bowl of the Philippines” and its dominance in highland vegetable farming, Benguet’s ability to cultivate both quality and skilled agriculturists comes as no surprise.

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced on December 2 that 15 out of 259 schools made it to the TPS list for the November 19–21 exam. The list features two categories:

A. Schools with 100 or more examinees and at least an 80% passing percentage; and

B. Schools with 40 to 99 examinees and at least an 80% passing percentage.

Category A has seven schools, including BSU; UP–Los Baños at first place, followed by Central Luzon SU; Mindanao SU – Gen. Santos; Visayas SU – Baybay; Central Mindanao U; and CARAGA SU – Butuan City. Meanwhile, Category B has eight schools.

BSU’s achievement reflects not only its commitment to academic excellence but also its contribution to uplifting agricultural education in the Cordillera region, further solidifying its reputation as a leading institution for agriculture in the Philippines.

Meanwhile, BSU also joined the list of top-performing schools in the country, along with two other Cordillera universities—SLU and IFSU—achieving a rare feat as all their nursing graduates passed the November 2025 Nurses Licensure Exam (NLE).
