Best friends killed in Tayum, Abra motorcycle crash

Tayum, Abra - Two young lives gone too soon after a motorcycle crash in Tayum, Abra, on Saturday, July 5, 2025. 

 

Police identified the victims as Justine, 17, and Mark, 15, who were both residents of San Juan, Abra. 

 

Justine and Mark grew up together in the same barangay (Barangay Culiong) and were known to many as best friends. According to a local media report’s interview, the two had always been seen side by side, whether at school or in their neighborhood. 

 

On said date, their final journey as best friends ended in Gaddani, Tayum, due to the tragic accident.

On their way home, the two were riding a motorcycle when their vehicle swerved after an attempt to avoid a 12-year-old pedestrian crossing the road. The impact was reported to be strong, inflicting fatal injuries to both.

 

The responding medical team rushed the victims to the nearest hospital in an effort to save their lives. Unfortunately, Justine was declared dead on arrival, while Mark succumbed to his injuries not long after. 

 

Fortunately, the 12-year-old pedestrian survived the incident but with injuries. 

 

Families, friends, teachers, and people who know Justine and Mark are now grieving their untimely passing.
