TABUK CITY, Kalinga — Lace up, hit the road, and run for a cause as iTanudans invite runners and sports enthusiasts to join the “Binnadang Run for a Cause,” an event aimed at raising funds for Tanudan Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Federation President Jericho “Coy Coy” Wanigon Golwingon, who remains confined in an intensive care unit (ICU) in Tuguegarao City.

Golwingon sought public office in 2023 with a commitment to serve his fellow iTanudans. For three years, he served as Tanudan SK Federation President and Babbanoy SK Chairman, where he led and initiated activities promoting the welfare and development of young people in the municipality.

However, his public service was interrupted after he was hospitalized on July 20 due to a brain aneurysm. More than a month later, he remains at the ICU of Cagayan United Doctors Medical Center in Tuguegarao City, with his hospital expenses continuing to increase.

In response, iTanudans organized the Binnadang Run for a Cause, scheduled on September 19, 2026 in Tabuk City, to help ease his growing medical expenses, which organizers estimate have already reached around ₱3 million.

Three race categories

According to SK Federation Acting President Spike Pugao, participants may choose from three race categories: 3K, 6K, and 12K.

Registration fees are ₱600 for the 3K, ₱550 for the 6K, and ₱500 for the 12K.

Registration includes a finisher’s medal, wristband, breakfast, unlimited coffee and water, fruits, and other inclusions. Participants who wish to get an event T-shirt may avail of one for an additional ₱500.

Those interested in joining may register and submit their payment through the event registration form (https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSe7jKqlmRBbXV7ww3-BK8CdgBw9-0A2IwFh8721c0k24kcIZQ/viewform) .

The assembly area will be at 4:00 to 4:30 a.m. on September 19 in front of 7-Eleven in Purok 6, Bulanao, Tabuk City.

Run and help an iTanudan

Organizers are encouraging runners not only to take part for fitness but also to make their miles meaningful by helping a fellow iKalinga facing a difficult battle.

Pugao said the event was organized on the belief that kailyans should stand together, especially during challenging times.

“Isu nga i-encourage mi ti kakadwa nga sipupuso nga tumulong through ti panagsali da kuma ditoy nga Fun Run ta awan daduma nga agtitinnulong nu haan nga da tayo nga kailyan ken kapamilya na,” Pugao said.

He also appealed to individuals who are willing to donate or volunteer to support the organizers and help make the activity more successful.

Run for Jericho. Run for a cause. Run with the iTanudans.
