Bodong Agro fair generates P1.3M in sales; Pasil Slow Food contributed over P.4M

Tabuk City, Kalinga – After the successful completion of the Bodong Agro Fair this February 2025, the Kalinga Provincial Information reported that Pasil Slow Food and Earth Market generated over 400,000 pesos in sales contributing to the total sales of the fair which is P1.3 million.

 

The sales came from a wide variety of agricultural products and fresh crops from the seven municipalities and lone city of Kalinga, as well as other exhibitors in the province, were showcased at their respective booths and bought by the residents and tourists alike.

 

Kalinga PIO said the Agro fair generated P857,475, while the Pasil Slow Food and Earth Market added P448,840.

 

Accordingly, Balbalan earned P180,610; Lubuagan, P132,309; Pasil, P90,728; Pinukpuk, P51,323; Rizal, P133,217; Tabuk City, P132,589; Tanudan, P88,023; and Tinglayan earned P130,419.

 

In addition to the municipal and city booths, the other exhibitors who participated in the events included the Allied Botanical Corporation, which earned P5,162; UNAHCO (Univet Nutrition & Animal Healthcare Company), P7,059; Philippine Carabao Center-Piat, P10,725; BFAR-PFO Kalinga, P18,590; OPAg, P3,230; and OPVet, P3,230.

 

Products displayed and sold by the sellers were vegetables, fruits, handicrafts, seedlings, coffee, 'unoy rice,' ube jam, chili paste, woven products, clay jars, soft brooms, vinegar, wines, dog foods, and other animals’ foods, among others.

 

In an interview with Guru Press Cordillera this March 7, Governor James Edduba said the success of the events underlined Kalinga’s commitment to preserving its cultural heritage while also providing a platform to boost local industries.

 

The governor likewise expressed his gratitude for all the participants and buyers while encouraging everyone to continue buying and promoting Kalinga products.

 

“Thank you so much for your continued participation ti kaskastoy nga activities ditoy probinsiya tayo. Sapay koma ta itultuloy tayo nga tangkilikin dagita own products tayo tapno ti kasta haan laeng nga makatulong tayo kadagitoy aglaklako nu diket mas maipromote tayo pay nga karkaro ti ili tayo ah Kalinga,” he stated.
