According to the Provincial Information Office of Cagayan, said activity is conducted in identified areas having the most numbers of active cases for the Covid-19 virus.

This Wednesday, a total of 855 individuals coming from the municipalities of Solana (250), Amulung (5), Alcala(400) and the City of Tugueguerao (200) are targeted to undergo swab test.

On Thursday, 1,155 individuals in Enrile(45), Iguig (55), Tuguegarao City (200), Penablanca (355) and Baggao (500) are scheduled to be swab tested. 1,100 individuals will undergo the same test on Friday, January 22.

Governor Manuel N. Mamba said on Tuesday, January 19, that one of the measures to prevent the increase in Covid-19 cases in the province is the conduct of mass testing. Other measure to be facilitated is the preparation of barangay LGUS for their isolation centers for asymptomatic cases for better monitoring and control of the spread of the virus.

As of this writing, Cagayan has a total of 359 active Covid-19 cases.

Mamba pointed out the surge of Covid-19 virus was “a result of the summation of the holiday activities and when typhoons hit Cagayan”.

Tugueguerao City was also put into 10-day lockdown starting today, January 20 until January 29, 2021 but a possible extension of 5 days could be imposed should the situation aggravates.
