Cagayan, Philippines – A priest who used to serve in Cagayan may not be able to get out of jail this time as he faces charges filed by his teen victim.

An arrest warrant for Father Karole Reward Israel, an Assistant Parish Priest of St. Vincent Ferrer in Solana, was issued by the Regional Trial Court in Tuguegarao City this March 1, the Cagayan Provincial Information Office reported.

The court ordered Israel’s arrest for 20 counts of acts of lasciviousness, voyeurism, and rape filed against him by a teen minister member.

The incident

The teen accused the suspect of molesting her last year.

An investigation by the National Bureau of Investigation- Region 2 disclosed that the first incident happened on February 8, 2022. At the time, the priest who drove the teenager home allegedly kissed and caressed her but she was able to get away from the suspect.

On February 22, the priest brought the victim to a hotel where he was said to have sexually abused her. The sexual abuse allegedly became a routine with most incidents transpiring in motels, hotels, his car, and even at the convent.

The sexual activity was filmed by the suspect which he used to keep the victim from reporting to the authorities.

No bail

The priest was arrested in a rescue operation on October 18, 2022, but he posted P183,000 bail two days later.

His arrest warrant issued on Wednesday has no bail recommended.
